Can You Believe There’s Still Snow On The Ground?

After spending a day at the National Bison Range last Saturday, I decided to drive home through some back roads.

Looking at the picture I took, I can’t help but to think of that old song “Over the river and through the woods, to Grandmother’s house we go.”

Sorry — didn’t mean to get that song stuck in your head. Is it already circling around in there? Have you sung it out loud yet?

Oops. I truly am sorry about that.

Anyway, I can’t say I was too surprised to see snow still on the ground in the back country. We have been wanting to go hiking for several weeks now, but the trails we’re the most interested in are still not accessible due to the rough winter we had here in Montana this year. The snow piles are getting lower though.

It seems odd to still see snow on the ground in May, but we know God has a plan. Perhaps this will keep us from experiencing fire season this summer. I sure hope so!

    1. I’m sure He does! Our first summer living in Montana we had a very bad summer with lots of forest fires. We have since learned that the more snow we get during winter months, the less likely we are to have a bad fire season so I’m thinking this is probably a good thing!
